SNL Parodies “Going Clear” With An Updated 90s-Era “Neurotology” Music Video!

By on April 5, 2015

Check out this wonderful Saturday Night Live parody music video for the obviously made-up Church of Neurotology, in which members sing about Diametrics, clearly a spoof on L. Ron Hubbard’s Dianetics.

As they sing, the updated 90s video — pop-up style — reveals what has happened to the members since the video was made, alluding to the allegations of abuse and missing members referenced in Alex Gibney’s Scientology documentary Going Clear, which premiered on HBO on March 29, unveiling a slew of shocking allegations against the Church and previously unknown stories about the celebrities. Check out our review of the movie, and a primer on Scientology, right here.

In this wonderful 90s-production era video, we hear SNL cast member Aidy Bryant singing: “Religion and science intertwined, aliens live inside of our minds, a billion year contract we have signed. It all makes sense to me!”
