Night Flight’s Atomic TV

Night Flight’s Atomic TV is a classic featurette and fan favorite from the original series.

This early video mashup combines the pop music scene of 1988 with public domain safety films to create a psychedelic pre-internet supercut for the ages.

It’s a hypnotic and surreal homage to nuclear hysteria with a comedic twist. Atomic TV is a testament to Night Flight’s dedication to music television experimentation and it’s all yours tonight on Night Flight Plus!

Life On The V: The Story Of V66

Like The Dr. Ruth Show,”, another paragon of ’80s television lands on Night Flight Plus. As of tonight, you can now stream the excellent 2010 documentary: Life On The V: The Story Of V66.

On February 12, 1985, V66 (on WVJV-TV channel 66) went live on the air and created an immediate sensation.

Playing a wide variety of genres and local unsigned bands in between international superstars V66 was in the right place at the right time to showcase Boston’s superstar acts of this era (Aerosmith, The Cars) as well as the new rising stars from Boston’s music scene (‘Til Tuesday, The Del Fuegos).

Forced Fists in My Brain: Lydia Lunch’s Video Hysterie: 1978-2006

Video Hysterie: 1978-2006 — collecting twenty-four of Lydia Lunch‘s cataclysmic musical collaborations over a twenty-eight year period — is just one of the thirty New Arrivals we’ve recently added to Night Flight Plus!

The first half of this exhaustive compilation of filmed performances (varying in degrees of quality) chronicles her earliest performances with Teenage Jesus & the Jerks and 8-Eyed Spy.

The second dozen, meanwhile, feature some of her post-’80s collaborations, including those with skronky spazz-jazz saxophonist Terry Edwards.
