By on August 25, 2015

Next month, David Lynch will be contributing to the the forthcoming Dumb Numbers’s limited edition box set, which will comprise three split 10-inch vinyl slabs, featuring tracks by the Dumb Numbers on one side and music by David Lynch, Melvins, David Yow (of Jesus Lizard) on the other. We’ve learned that the title of the original David Lynch composition is “I Dreamed I Saw Jack Nance Last Night.” It’s out on September 25th, from the Joyful Noise label.

The promotional video for the box set that we’re featuring here was directed and edited by Dumb Numbers’ Adam Harding, an Australian musician/filmmaker, with art direction by Stephanie Gonot and photographed by Dominic Aluisi. The hand model is Kaiza Losch.

Dumb Numbers is Harding’s collaborative supergroup project, featuring a revolving cast of musical collaborators including Lou Barlow (Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr), Dale Crover (Melvins), David Yow (Scratch Acid, the Jesus Lizard), Murph (Dinosaur Jr.), Kevin Rutmanis (Cows, Melvins), Alexander Hacke (Einsturzende Neubauten), Bobb Bruno (Best Coast), Jenny Lee Lindberg (Warpaint), Bonnie Mercer (Grey Daturas, Dead River) and Steve Patrick (Useless Children).

The 3×10″ Box Set + Digital is $65.00, and is limited to a one-time pressing of 975 hand-numbered copies, packaged within a custom wooden box set, with screen-printed art by Mackie Osborne. The first 275 copies are pressed on clear vinyl w/ “haze” of gold, silver, and oxblood colors [sold out], and the remaining 700 copies are pressed on black vinyl marbled w/ gold, silver, and oxblood colors.

Digital is available on September 25th, with vinyl released on Halloween (October 31). Physical copies are exclusively available via Joyful Noise.
