Darth Trump: Make The Galaxy Great Again!

By on December 9, 2015

We just had to share with you this mashup — between the bloviating Donald Trump and Darth Vader — which replaces the Dark Lord of the galaxy’s dialogue from the original 1977 Star Wars movie with actual audio soundbites from the Republican front-runner, whose very slogan shows up as a billboard atop the Imperial Star Destroyer that reads “TRUMP: Make The Galaxy Great Again!”

This video, posted to YouTube on Monday December 7th, by Auralnauts, who’ve produced successful Star Wars and Batman satires in the past, connects two inescapable and unavoidable things we’re all seeing too much of right now (Star Wars and Donald Trump), and it reminds us that we should have made this connection between them much earlier, that Trump and Vader belong together… please someone send them both off to a galaxy far, far away…

We should have seen this coming, really. Did you know that when actor David Prowse was told that actor James Earl Jones’s iconic dark-toned voice would be replacing his own lines of dialogue in post-production, the 6 ft. 5-inch British bodybuilder — who played Vader beneath the mask — was apparently so frustrated that he stopped learning his lines for The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and he improvise lines of dialogue, sometimes speaking complete gibberish, forcing his movie co-stars to respond as if he had said the correct line, and if there’s anyone out there now on the campaign trail speaking gibberish, it’s you-know-who.

“I’m a very, very strong believer in Christianity and religion,” says Darth Trump before he’s interrupted by Admiral Motti, who says “Don’t try to frighten us with your sorcerer’s ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the rebels’ hidden fort-…” but then Darth Trump begins to use the Force to choke him (oh, if there were only a way to use the Force on the real Donald Trump!).

Darth Trump also rambles on about his poll numbers and military plans to his generals and Emperor Palpatine, but perhaps the best bits come from some more vintage Trump audio, including a spot-on use of his catch phrase from TV’s “The Apprentice” and a long-forgotten pitch for “Trump Steaks.” Here’s the original:
